In the new FleetOps interface, a number of changes are introduced as we apply the new layout. It's important to note that the underlying data connections and processing are unaffected in this update, and content access will remain the same.
We have highlighted the changes below to assist you in communicating with internal teams.
Menu layout
With the new interface, the main menu will move from the left hand side of the screen to a top navigation bar. With this change:-
- The distinct menu items of Reports, Dashboards, KPI lists will be combined into one All Content list.
- The Data Manager and Gadgets will now appear in the sub-menu under Content.
- Wallboards will now appear in the sub-menu under Content.
- A new search box will be visible on the menu so users can search for a view anywhere in the system.
We have explainer articles on the menu layout for System Admins and users:-
New Features
With the new interface, you will now have access to new/improved features.
- Apps: access to FleetOps modules, which include the ability to create Frontline Views. Please reach out to sales@fleetops.com if you need more information on our new modules.
- User Groups: the ability to create custom user groupings to match your internal teams. This improves sharing and access management in the system.
- Workspaces: improved functionality in Workspaces with the introduction of pinned content and Workspace Admins.
- Labels: you will now see labels on your content to reflect any FleetOps Apps content deployed on your site. This improves list filtering and gives greater clarity to System Administrators on the content in their site.
- Publishing flow: ability to now Publish content for administrator visibilty. Unpublished content is only visible to the creator, while all System Admins can see Published content. To share content with anyone, content needs to be Published first - this means System Administrators can control and see all shared reporting across the site.
User roles
There will be changes to the role permission in the new interface.
- Addition of special user permissions: You can now give Basic or Executive Users access to certain settings without making them a System Administrator.
- Billing Management
- Connector Management
- Wallboard Management
- User Management
- Removal of User Management permission from Executive Users:
- Executive Users will not have access to User Management by default - they will need to be given access via the special permission on their user profile.
